Consultation – A Guide for New Clients
If you’re looking to try a new stylist, we know how stressful that can be. You can set your new client/stylist relationship off on the right foot by nailing communication during your consultation before your service. Always remember that we are here to serve you and that you are in the driver’s seat. Your appointment will always begin with a consultation, but you can also ask for a free conslutation before you book.
Here are some tips for a great consultation:
Be prepared. Have pictures ready and available on a phone or device for the stylist to see. Be as specific as possible about what you’re looking for, and make sure to communicate what it is about the pictures that you like.
Talk cost. Ask about the cost of your desired service beforehand to keep from being surprised after the fact. Remember, prices listed online or in pricing menus are starting out prices, meaning a number of varables can cause the price to increase. If you’re on a budget, make sure to let your stylist know.
Talk upkeep. If you’re looking for a big change, you’ll need to know exactly what comes with the territory for your new look. Here are some things to ask:
- how often will you need to come in for trims or touch-ups?
- what tools and products will you need to create the look at home?
- how simple or difficult is achieving the desired style?
Remember, there’s no such thing as a silly question, and your consultation is the time to ask, so don’t hesitate to state your questions or concerns during that time. A sucessful salon visit always begins with a thorough consultation. With the above ideas in mind, you’ll be ready and prepared for your new client/stylist relationship and one step closer to a beautiful new look you’ll love.
